There was a time at the beginning of the last half of the Twentieth Century when Jaguar made the best looking cars anywhere in the world. This was entirely due to the aesthetic sense of Williiam Lyons ( later Sir William ) who, working only with a couple of technicians, produced full size prototypes of new cars by working as a sculptor works, directly in metal, without bothering with clay models or drawings beforehand.
